The Dam Tour to Morristown – Davy Crockett Tavern and Museum
Douglas Dam was built to supply The Manhattan Project (featured in Oppenheimer) with power and is part of the TVA System, it is our first stop. As we travel along Douglas Lake, we learn how a fifty mile stretch of land was turned into one of America’s largest manmade lakes. Cherokee Dam and Lake is our next stop for more beautiful photos before traveling to historic Morristown with its elevated Skymart Sidewalks. Lunch is at Little Dutch Restaurant founded in 1939. The Crockett Tavern and a guided
tour of the Davy Crockett Museum follow before a beautiful ride back to Pigeon Forge.
